Sasaeng (사생) comes from sasaenghwal (사생활), private life. It refers to people who follow idols to their homes, flights or private places, or who get their personal information.

Agencies and fandoms treat this as harmful behavior, and many agencies take legal action against it. It is the opposite of respectful fandom.

“The agency asked fans not to share the sasaeng photos.”
